Why you should use Eilersen load cells for tanks and vessels?
There are many vendors of load cells in the marketplace and so here we explain the benefits of using Eilersen stainless steel Load Cells for your tanks and vessels. The initial benefit is found with a simpler installation and maintenance of your weighing system. Using our patented capacitive measuring principle allows for extreme overloads, torsion, sideloads and shocks hence mechanical overload protection devices are not necessary. Saving you the time and cost of installing, commissioning and maintaining your weighing system.
The Eilersen Load Cells have the major difference of being based on a non-contact measurement, with most other load cells requires the sensor (strain gage) to be physically stressed when the elastic load cell body is deformed by the applied force or weight.
As well as providing higher overload tolerances, the Eilersen non-contact capacitive sensor also provides higher resolution. The capacitive measurement principle has a change in capacitance of 10% compared to the standard foil strain gage with a resistance change of only 0.1%. With such a higher sensitivity, the elastic element does not need to be strained as much. This further increases the accuracy and shockproof capabilities of the load cell ideally suited for tanks and vessels.
The Eilersen digital load cells also only require a single wire coaxial cable to connect to the weighing electronics and the load cell cable can be up to 100 meters in length giving you more choice in positioning your weighing electronics in the best suitable place.
Furthermore, the Eilersen stainless steel load cells are hermitically sealed to IP68 to ensure superb waterproof protection in industrial and hygienic sanitary applications. Compare this to the bulky 6 or 7 multiple wire cable used for strain gage load cells which requires a much more complex system to achieve hermetical sealing.
The Eilersen digital load cells offer a true plug-and-play installation with all load cells being pre-calibrated to transmit the load directly in grams. This feature often eliminates the need for on-site calibration.
